rC. Sprinkler heads shall be installed as designated on the drawings. Heads <br />shall be installed on "funny- pipe" swing joints. The top of all sprinkler <br />heads shall be flush with finish grade or top -of -curb. <br />D. All sprinkler head risers above finish grade shall be painted with exterior <br />' alkyd - enamel paint, flat - green. The IC shall provide a sample of paint to <br />the LA prior to installation. <br />E. Spacing of heads shall not exceed the maximum indicated on the <br />drawings (unless directed by the LA). In no case, shall the spacing <br />exceed the maximum recommended by the manufacturer. <br />F. Before sprinkler heads are set, the IC shall flush the lines thoroughly to <br />ensure there is no foreign matter in the lines. <br />3.04 CONTROLLER INSTALLATION <br />A. The IC shall be responsible for installing all automatic controllers located <br />on the plans and details for the complete and proper automatic operation <br />of the irrigation system. All such work shall be coordinated with the <br />building and site ICs. <br />B. Electric control valves shall be connected to controller in a clockwise <br />sequence to correspond with station settings noted on the plans beginning <br />with Stations 1, 2, 3, etc. Electric source shall be provided by others. IC <br />shall be responsible for all connections, hook -ups, materials, labor, etc. for <br />complete automatic operation according to the manufacturer and all <br />applicable codes. <br />C. The electrical service will be stubbed up to within five feet (5') of the <br />controller location(s) indicated on the drawings. The IC shall provide all <br />final and necessary conduit, wiring, and electrical terminations to each <br />controller. <br />D. The location of all controllers shall be approved by the OAR prior to <br />installation. <br />E. All controllers shall be equipped with surge arrestors as specified in this <br />section. Resistance to earth - ground of the ground element shall not <br />exceed 5 OHMS. Wire used to connect equipment to grounding rod shall <br />be one (1) size larger than largest wire used on the irrigation system (at <br />same location) and connected with a brass, single -piece clamp. <br />3.06 CONTROL WIRE INSTALLATION <br />A. The IC shall install control wires at least eighteen inches (18 ") below finish <br />grade and lay to the side of the mainline. Provide a minimum of twenty- <br />07/06 02810 -18 05 -5564 <br />
