t <br />fl <br />r <br />Ll <br />D. All metal parts and grounding conductors in each manhole or pullbox shall <br />be grounded to a local ground rod. <br />E. Resistance: Readings shall not be taken within 48 hours of a rainfall. <br />F. The CONTRACTOR shall provide a written report for all grounding test <br />results to the ENGINEER. The test shall include all ground connections. <br />The report shall be signed by the OWNER of the contracting firm and <br />shall include: Test date, time, weather conditions on test date and 3 days <br />prior to the test date, location and results. <br />G. All raceways require grounding conductors. Metallic raceways are not <br />adequate grounding paths. Bonding conductors through the raceway <br />systems shall be continuous from main switch ground buses to panel <br />grounding bus of panelboards, and from panel grounding bus of <br />panelboards, and motor control centers to branch circuit outlets, motors, <br />lights, etc. These ground conductors are required throughout the project <br />regardless of whether conduit runs or the Cable and Conduit Schedule <br />show ground conductors on the Drawings. <br />H. All connections made below grade shall be of the exothermic type. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 CONDUIT INSTALLATION <br />A. General <br />1. Nylon pull cords shall be installed in all empty conduits. Wire shall <br />not be installed until all work of any nature that may cause damage is <br />completed, including pouring of concrete. Mechanical means shall <br />not be used in pulling in wires 8 AWG or smaller. <br />2. The use of running threads is prohibited and where some such <br />device is necessary, split couplings, Erickson couplings, or equal <br />shall be used. Where water tight conduit installations are required, <br />1 watertight conduit unions shall be used. <br />3. All conduits shall be cleaned by pulling a brush swab through before <br />installing cables. <br />4. All conduits shall be sealed at each end with electrical putty or <br />Ductseal.
