An existing
wellfield was rehabilitated and 15 wells were abandoned.
South Broward Utility Water Treatment Plant, Broward County
CGA's engineering study analyzed the existing 1.0 MGD lime softening package unit and
all other equipment. Flow projections determined an additional 1.0 MGD package lime
softening unit and multimedia filters were required. Also the facility's raw water well supply,
lime feed systems, finished water storage, and high service were updated.
Water Treatment Plant Rehabilitation, Dania Beach
This project involved the complete renovation of the existing 3.0 MGD capacity lime
softening plant. The rehabilitation project included the replacement of filter valves, the rate
of flow controllers, a chlorination system, a lime mixing system, pumps, and vent filters.
The renovation of the treatment units included piping and instrumentation, cleaned
clearwells, and new plant electrical/ instrumentation controls.
Wells #9, #10, and #11, Pembroke Pines
CGA prepared the engineering study and design for the three wells. Permitting and
construction management were provided for the three Biscayne raw water wells and the
abandonment of two existing wells.
Brine Concentration Pipeline, Hollywood
The project involved the engineering design of the brine concentration pipeline for the City
of Hollywood water treatment plant upgrading. This 3.5 -mile pipeline will ultimately
transport 5.3 MGD from the Hollywood Water Treatment Plant High Services Pumping
Station. The design of this pipeline took into consideration the special requirements of
reverse osmosis and membrane softening, reject water including low pH from backwash
operations.
