Contractor forces must notify the City Debris <br />Manager of kx:atioos where hazardoos rnateriaIs are encountered. <br /> <br />7.10.4. Other NonoCoUectlon Items: The following items must not be removed or hauled to the designated disposal <br />sites: <br /> <br />· Household putrescible galbage <br />· Electri: company transformers, poles and other equipment and materials <br />· Telephone company transformers, poles and other equipment and materials <br />· Traffic signs. signals, and appurtenances <br />· Debris on private properly <br />· Vehicles. boats and trailers <br />· Household Hazardous Waste <br /> <br />Curbside coIectioo of househok:I putrescI)Ie garbage wi be handed by the usual public and private haulers. <br />Household galbage must not be mixed with storm debris. All utility equipment. traffic signs and signals that are <br />encountered must be moved to a visible, accessible location at or near curbside for disposition by utiUty <br />companies or the City. <br /> <br />Privately owned vehicles may not be moved by the Contractor. The Contractor will advise the City Debris <br />Manager accordingly when removal of vehicles is necessary to continue debris removal operations. <br /> <br />7.1o.s. Debris Removal: During debris removal operations. extreme caution must be exercised by the Contractor to <br />ensure that no damage is done to public or private properties. Tracked vehicles may not be operated on paved <br />surfaces. <br /> <br />7.1M Loading: All loose debris, such as tree limbs, must be reasonably compacted on the hiUng vehDes ctJrilg <br />loading. All debris extending beyond the vehicle in any horizontal drection must be cut off or otherwise removed. <br /> <br />7.10.7. Hauling: All vehicles utilized in hauUng debris must be equWed with adequate means for containing the load, <br />inducing canvas covering while transporting the debris to the landfill. Covering must effectively prevent debris from <br />being blown or bounced off the vehicles. <br /> <br />Sideboards or other extensions to the bed will be permitted provided they meet state and local requirements, <br />cover front, back, and two sides, and are substantially coostnded. Sideboards must be coostrucled of 2" x 6"llI1i>er <br />or greater and may extend no noe than two (2) feet beyood the metal bed sides. Vehicles must be equipped with a <br />tailgate or other devices that will effectively contain the debris on the vehk:le whUe hauling, and also penn~ the <br />vehk:1e to be loaded to capacity. <br /> <br />7.10.8. Dumping: All debris must be hauled to an approved landfill. The Contractor must make every effort possbIe to <br />separate trees, woody debris, and brush from other types of debris at curbside. All trees, woOOy debris, and <br />brush will be accepted at the designated landfill. Construction and clemolition debris must be similarly <br />segregated and transported. <br /> <br />7.10.9. Equipment Storage: The Contractor is responsible for locating areas where hislher equipment may be stored, <br />serviced and repaired and coordinating with the City if said location is in the City limits. Such areas rnust na be <br />located within rights-of-way or in any areas that would impact traffic flow or produce a safety hazard. This does <br />not preclude par1<ing equipment for short periods of time, including overnight, in right-of-way areas where work is in <br />progress; on-site refueling and operating checks including daUy maintenance wil be allowed. <br /> <br />41 <br />
