The Applicant is requesting a conditional use of spacing requirements as per <br />Section 98-4 of the City Code to permit a liquor package store for the sales of <br />alcohol, for off-premise consumption under the conditional use approval <br />requirement of Section 98-8 of the City Code. <br /> <br />2. Planning Analysis <br /> <br />The Applicant has operated a retail pharmacy store at its current location for a number of years. <br />In addition to operating a pharmacy, the Applicant sells retail grocery items which includes but <br />are not limited to beer and wine for off-premises consumption. The Applicant is now seeking to <br />expand its service to customers by requesting permission to sell distilled liquor for off-premises <br />consumption. The Applicant is requesting a conditional use because it is less than 750 feet from <br />another establishment ("Publix Supermarkets") that sells alcoholic beverages. Please note that <br />Publix only sells beer and wine. <br /> <br />To facilitate the operating of a liquor store, the Applicant is proposing to relocate the <br />administrative offices within the store and redesign the area to accommodate the proposed <br />liquor package store.
