The area is generally comprised of single-family residential streets with some pockets of multi-family <br />uses. Major institutional uses include Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Heart Institute, Nautilus Middle School, and <br />North Beach Elementary School. Arthur Godfrey Road (41st Street), a State roadway, is a major commercial corridor to <br />the southern border of this neighborhood, Alton Road is a state minor arterial on the west side. <br />. Streetscape Improvements <br />· Reconfiguration of W. 42nd St. from North Michigan Ave. to North Meridian Ave. <br />· Reconfiguration of the Intersection of Prairie Ave. / Chase Ave / W. <br />44th St. <br />· Roadway Milling and Resurfacing <br />· Landscaping within the Right-Of-Way <br />· Sidewalk Extension (ADA ramps / damaged sidewalk replacement) <br />· Lighting Upgrades <br />· Driveway Apron Restoration <br />· Swale Reclamation / Removal of Encroachments <br />· Pavement Narrowing <br />· On-Street Parking Improvements <br />. Stormwater Improvements <br />The improvements to the stormwater system are limited to the three Severe Flooding at Nautilus <br />priority drainage basins (92, 97 & 99) identified in the City of Miami Beach Stormwater Management Master <br />Plan for the Nautilus Neighborhood. All three priority basins lie within the Nautilus West Area. Basin No. 92 is <br />the largest and encompasses the south part of Nautilus West. Basin NO.99 is the smallest and is at the <br />northern end of Nautilus West just south of the Surprise Waterway Canal.
