interfering portion of the work are on the site. All existing utilities shall be pothole <br /> located prior to construction of conflicting yard piping. <br /> 1.05 UTILITY CROSSINGS <br /> A. It is intended that wherever existing utilities such as water, chemical, electrical or <br /> other service lines must be crossed, deflection of the pipe within recommended <br /> limits and cover shall be used to satisfactorily clear the obstruction unless <br /> otherwise indicated on the Drawings. However, when in the opinion of the Owner <br /> or Engineer this procedure is not feasible he may direct the use of fittings for a <br /> utility crossing as detailed on the Drawings. All existing utilities shall be pothole <br /> located prior to construction. <br /> 1.06 CONNECTIONS TO EXISTING SYSTEMS <br /> A. The Contractor shall perform all work necessary to locate, excavate and prepare <br /> for connections to the terminus of the existing mains all as shown on the Drawings <br /> or where directed by the Owner. The cost of this work and for the actual <br /> connection of the existing mains shall be included in the bid price for the pipe <br /> installation and shall not result in any additional cost to the Owner. <br /> 1.07 RELOCATIONS <br /> A. The Contractor shall be responsible for the relocation of structures, including but <br /> not limited to light poles, signs, sign poles, fences, piping, irrigation conduits and <br /> drains that interfere with the positioning of the work as set out on the Drawings. <br /> The cost of all such relocations shall be included in the bid for the project and shall <br /> not result in any additional cost to the Owner. <br /> 1.08 HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS PLAN <br /> A. Prior to issuance of the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall submit to the <br /> Engineer and Owner a Hurricane Preparedness Plan. The plan should outline the <br /> necessary measures which the Contractor proposes to perform at no additional <br /> cost to the Owner in case of a hurricane waming. The plan shall detail these <br /> measures with specific action items defining responsible personnel. <br /> B. In the event of inclement weather, or whenever Engineer shall direct; Contractor <br /> will cause Subcontractors to protect carefully the Work and materials against <br /> damage or injury from the weather. If, in the opinion of the Engineer, any portion <br /> of Work or materials shall have been damaged or injured by reason of failure on <br /> the part of Contractor or any Subcontractor to so protect the Work, such Work and <br /> materials shall be removed and replaced at the expense of the Contractor. <br /> 1.09 DISINFECTION <br /> A. The Contractor shall clean, disinfect and bacteriologically test and clear, in <br /> accordance with the latest edition of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) and <br /> Section 01721, there is no section 01721 all water supply facilities affected by this <br /> project which shall come into contact with water being treated or treated water prior <br /> 08/12 01030-2 11-4179 <br />
