E. Random Testing <br /> For those positions that FirstService Residential determines are appropriate,or if an employee has <br /> previously tested positive,or if required by law,an employee maybe required to submit to a random <br /> drug test. A random drug test will not be announced in advance. <br /> F. Diluted Specimen <br /> If FirstService Residential is advised by the testing facility or MRO that the specimen provided by <br /> the employee or applicant is reported as a negative with a note that the specimen was"diluted,"the <br /> individual will need to be retested upon request from FirstService Residential either the same day or <br /> up to two business days after FirstService Residential is notified of the diluted specimen. <br /> G. Adulterated Specimen <br /> If FirstService Residential is advised by the testing facility or MRO that the specimen provided by <br /> the employee or applicant has been adulterated with an identifiable adulterating agent, FirstService <br /> Residential will normally treat the test result as a positive. If FirstService Residential is advised the <br /> drug test was invalid, the individual will need to be retested upon request from FirstService <br /> Residential either the same day or up to two business days after FirstService Residential is notified of <br /> the invalid test result. <br /> DEFINITIONS <br /> "Legal Drug"includes prescribed drugs and over-the-counter drugs which have been legally obtained <br /> and are being used solely for the purpose for which they were prescribed or manufactured. <br /> "Illegal Drug"any drug(a)which is not legally obtainable;(b)which may be legally obtainable but <br /> has not been legally obtained; (c) which is being used in a manner or for a purpose other than as <br /> prescribed. <br /> POLICY AND WORK RULE <br /> FirstService Residential's Policy is to employ a work force free from use of illegal drugs and abuse <br /> of alcohol. The moderate use of alcohol at FirstService Residential-approved events, in connection <br /> with business meals, travel, entertainment,or in appropriate social setting, is not prohibited by this <br /> Policy. Any employee determined to be in violation of this Policy is subject to corrective action, <br /> which may include termination,even for the first offense.
