BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />Pump Station G420 is located approximately 0.7 miles north of SW 8th Street, and 1.1 miles west of NW 137th Ave in <br />western Miami -Dade County. <br />Turning vanes were constructed within the 90 -degree bend of the supply canal approaching the G420 pump station. The <br />turning vane walls are supported by H -piles driven into the canal bottom. Areas between H -piles were infilled with <br />precast concrete planks/panels inserted between the piles. New steel sheet pile wing -walls for both intake and outfall <br />sides of G420 seepage pump station were also constructed. The approximate length of wing -walls is 35 feet in each of <br />four (4) locations. <br />RADISE provided geotechnical engineering services including field exploration/testing and laboratory testing services. <br />The field exploration program evaluated the existing subsurface conditions for the project consisted of drilling three (3) <br />Standard Penetration Test borings to depths of 40 feet below the existing ground surface. Soil classifications were based <br />on visual observations supplemented by laboratory test results performed on selected representative samples. Laboratory <br />index tests consisting of full Sieve Analysis, Natural Moisture and Organics Content tests were performed on selected <br />samples. <br />RADISE provided Geotechnical Services Report which includes the detailed graphical logs of the soil borings, <br />groundwater levels, and soil classifications. RADISE also provided recommendations for various aspects of the project <br />including H -pile and sheet pile wing wall analyses for deflection and recommendations for embedment depths. <br />25.
